Writesonic AI Visibility Review: 50 Prompts at $79

Writesonic now sells prompt monitoring for ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews. What each tier tracks, which assistants are gated to Enterprise, and a pricing page that does not add up.

Writesonic began as an AI writing tool and now sells AI-answer visibility tracking: fixed prompts run daily against assistants, with a record of whether your brand comes back. Its Starter plan is $79 a month and lists 50 prompts and 50 answers tracked daily across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, in one market, read on 24 September 2026.

What the three published tiers track

Starter, at $79 a month, lists 50 prompts and 50 answers tracked daily, across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, in one market. Basic, at $199, lists 100 prompts and 300 answers daily. Growth, at $399, lists 200 prompts and 600 answers daily and adds what the page calls prompt diversification.

The distinction between prompts and answers is the most useful thing on that page and the least discussed. A prompt is a question you want watched; an answer is one recorded response to it. Starter's 50-and-50 means roughly one sample per prompt per day, while Basic's 100-and-300 means roughly three. Because generated answers are sampled rather than sorted — ask twice, get different names — repeated sampling is what turns the data from an anecdote into a frequency, and it is the real difference between those tiers.

The assistant coverage question

Writesonic's Enterprise tier advertises all 10 AI platforms tracked and names them: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Microsoft Copilot, Meta AI, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews. That list is the marketing headline, and it is not what $79 buys.

At Starter, Basic and Growth the published coverage is ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. For a great many businesses that is the right three, because AI Overviews sits directly on the results page people already reach and ChatGPT is where the assistant traffic is. But if the reason you are shopping is that a competitor keeps being recommended in Perplexity, the published tiers do not solve your problem and the page that does is a custom quote.

A pricing page that does not reconcile

On 24 September 2026 the annual toggle on Writesonic's pricing page showed $79, $199 and $399 per month — the same figures as the monthly toggle — beside labels reading Save $240/year, Save $600/year and Save $1200/year. Those two things cannot both describe the same plan.

The likeliest explanation is mundane: a toggle that updates a label without updating the figure. It is recorded here rather than resolved because this site quotes what the vendor's page says and does not guess at what it meant. The monthly figures are the ones used throughout the AI visibility comparison, and if you are considering annual billing, read the total at checkout rather than the label.

Against the alternatives

Otterly.AI's Lite plan is $29 a month for 15 prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot — fewer prompts, more assistants, a third of the price. If the question is "does this happen to us at all", that is the cheaper way to find out.

Semrush's Starter plan at $199 a month includes 50 prompts to track daily, the same prompt count as Writesonic's $79 tier, because you are buying an SEO suite around it. SE Ranking sells AI Search as an add-on at $89 monthly or $71.20 annually on top of a $129.00 Core plan. Ahrefs sells Brand Radar AI from $199 with prompt packages at $50 to $250.

Which means Writesonic's position is genuinely competitive on prompts-per-dollar at the standalone end, and the thing to check is not the price but whether the three assistants it covers at that price are your three.

How to set up prompts that tell you something

The prompt list is the whole experiment, and most people waste it by monitoring their own brand name. Asking an assistant about a company it has already been told about returns a description, not a recommendation, and a description tells you nothing about whether you are being suggested to anyone.

The prompts worth spending Starter's fifty on are the ones a buyer would actually type: the category question with no brand in it, the same question with a constraint attached, the comparison between two named competitors that does not include you, and the "best X for Y" phrasing that assistants answer with lists. Those are the questions where being absent costs something, and where an appearance is genuine visibility rather than a lookup.

Fifty prompts sounds generous until you split it across markets, phrasings and product lines, so it is worth writing the list before buying a tier. If the list comes out at fifteen, Otterly.AI's Lite plan at $29 a month covers it for a third of the price; if it comes out at a hundred and twenty, the Basic tier at $199 is the honest comparison rather than Starter.

What this cannot do, and no competitor can either

It cannot give you a rank in an AI answer, because there is no rank: a generated answer is a paragraph with sometimes a few citations rather than an ordered list. Everything these tools report is a frequency across repeated runs — how often mentioned, how often cited, who appeared alongside.

It also cannot tell you whether being mentioned produced a visit. Attribution from assistant answers to sessions is unsolved across the whole category, which is why a prompt monitor is a competitive-intelligence purchase rather than a traffic measurement, and why for most sites an ordinary rank tracker priced per keyword still buys more decisions per dollar.

Writesonic AI visibility questions

How much is Writesonic's AI visibility tracking?
Starter is $79 a month for 50 prompts and 50 answers tracked daily, Basic is $199 for 100 prompts and 300 answers, and Growth is $399 for 200 prompts and 600 answers, all read on 24 September 2026. The annual figures on the page match the monthly ones beside labels claiming annual savings, so the monthly prices are the only ones quoted here. Enterprise is a custom quote.
Which AI assistants does Writesonic track?
At the three published tiers: ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, in one market. The ten-platform list that appears in its marketing — adding Perplexity, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Microsoft Copilot, Meta AI and Google AI Mode — belongs to the Enterprise tier. Check which assistants matter to you before assuming the headline list is what you are buying.
What is the difference between prompts and answers tracked?
A prompt is the question being watched; an answer is one recorded response to it. Starter's 50 prompts and 50 answers is roughly one sample per prompt per day, while Basic's 100 prompts and 300 answers is roughly three. That matters because assistants sample rather than sort, so a single response tells you very little and repeated responses are what turn the data into a usable frequency.

The whole board, ordered by what one tracked keyword costs, is on the rank tracker comparison. If what you need to watch is AI answers rather than the ten blue links, start at AI search visibility trackers instead.
