Which links pay, which pay nothing, and what that changes
Five programmes, four of them live, one of them deliberately switched off. Plus the eleven tools named on this site that earn it nothing at all, and why they are here anyway.
Positionlog is funded by partner commissions on some of its outbound links. Every one of those links goes through an address beginning /go/ and carries rel="sponsored nofollow", so it is machine-readable as paid whether or not you read this page. This disclosure exists because a reader deciding what to buy deserves to know which sentences have money behind them.
The programmes behind the links
| Tool | How it pays | Cookie window | Status on this site |
|---|---|---|---|
| SE Ranking | 30% of each subscription payment, for as long as the subscription runs | 120 days | Live |
| AccuRanker | 20% recurring | 120 days | Live |
| Mangools | up to 35%, recurring | 30 days | Live |
| Writesonic | 20% recurring for 12 months | 60 days | Live |
| Semrush | $10 per trial, $50–$450 per sale | 120 days | Switched off — see below |
The Semrush link is not a partner link
Semrush's programme requires at least 1,000 monthly unique visitors or 1,000 followers before a site can join. Positionlog is new and does not clear that bar, so its Semrush link is an ordinary link to the homepage, it carries no sponsored button anywhere on the site, and it earns nothing.
This matters editorially as well as technically. Every sentence about Semrush here was written to read correctly on the assumption of zero commission, because that is the actual situation. If the site later qualifies and the arrangement changes, this paragraph changes first and the date at the top of the page changes with it.
Tools named here that pay nothing
Eleven of them, and several are recommended in preference to the ones that do pay:
- Google Search Console — free, from Google's own data rather than from scraping, and the honest first answer for most readers. No programme exists and none could.
- Bing Webmaster Tools — same shape, same answer, no programme.
- Ahrefs — closed its affiliate programme in 2019. It is on the board because its Rank Tracker allowances belong there.
- SEO PowerSuite's Rank Tracker — the free desktop edition is named as a genuine free option. Its programme has not been read at the source by anyone here, so there is no link arrangement.
- Nightwatch, Wincher, Serpstat, BrightLocal, Local Falcon and Otterly.AI — all named where they are the relevant tool; none has terms anyone on this site has read at the source, and an unread programme does not become a link.
- Screaming Frog — never keyed anywhere in this network, by standing rule.
The principle is short: a payout never decides a placement. The board on the rank tracker page is ordered by cost per tracked keyword, which is arithmetic, not opinion — and the tool sitting at the bottom of that ordering is one this site would be paid for.
Things this site will not do
No discount codes or "exclusive deal" boxes. Several of the programmes above ban coupon placement outright, and the ones that do not still produce pages that rot. Where a vendor publishes a genuine saving on its own pricing page — SE Ranking's 20% for annual billing, AccuRanker's 10% — it is quoted as the vendor's published price with the date it was read.
No bidding on vendor brand names. Mangools, AccuRanker and Semrush all prohibit it; SE Ranking prohibits paid advertising entirely. This site runs no paid search at all, which is simpler than tracking five sets of rules.
No self-referral. Nobody here subscribes to a tool through this site's own links.
No sponsored reviews, paid placements or link insertions. They are not offered and requests are not answered.
The plain legal bit
Positionlog participates in affiliate programmes and may be compensated when you subscribe to a product after following a link marked as sponsored. The price you pay is set by the vendor and is the same price you would pay arriving directly. Nothing on this site is a guarantee about your rankings, your traffic or the results of any tool.
